I live in Sheffield,  S. Yorkshire.  In 2002 I signed up to the ‘juice’ electricity account and received my first bill in May-2002 which quoted the agreed tariff of 5.03p/unit.

However the August-2002 bill showed a dramatic rise of nearly 20% to 6.03p/unit.  I queried this with npower and was told it would be corrected to 5.03p/unit.  Subsequently,  no correction was applied.

In September-2003 I queried the August-2003 bill which still showed no evidence of a correction.  I was told that the 6.03p/unit tariff would change back to 5.03p/unit and to ignore the bill.

In December-2003 I queried the November bill.  I was told that the rise to 6.03p had been investigated and had been correct all along.

This brings the rise in tariff over 18 months to 28.2%,  more in effect due to the effect of the higher tariff introduced for the first 182 units on the quarterly bill.
